The Aqua ABW was the blueprint for the Aqua Stainless Steel Waterproof Scale, but Adam Equipment decided to make several improvements. The ABW is IP67-rated, as opposed to the IP68 rating of the ABW-S. The ABW is still dust and watertight, but it can’t be submerged as deeply or for as long as the Aqua Stainless Steel Waterproof Scale. Constructed from solid ABS housing, the ABW is robust and durable, however, it’s certainly outmatched by the stainless-steel housing and platform of the ABW-S. The ABW-S may be slightly more expensive, but in our opinion, the benefits are worth the cost.

Adam Latitude LBX

Capacities: 3000g – 30000g

Readabilities: 0.5g – 5g

While the ABW-S and the Adam Latitude LBX are both bench scales, the Latitude is not IP-rated. Therefore, it is not protected from water and may be vulnerable to dirt and dust. This does not make the LBX ideal for industries where sanitation and hygiene are of the utmost importance, while the ABW-S can manage it easily. The LBX also offers lower capacities and higher readabilities, meaning that the ABW-S is much more accurate when weighing heavier objects.

Inscale IWS

Capacities: 3000g – 30000g

Readabilities: 0.5g – 5g

Like the LBX, the Inscale IWS offers lower capacities and higher readabilities than the ABW-S, therefore, the IWS is less ideal for applications that require absolute accuracy with heavier objects. However, the IWS is IP68-rated and constructed of stainless steel, just like the ABW-S. This scale may be the right choice for you in an environment where its lower accuracy is less important than its washdown capabilities, and your budget for buying weighing scales is a bit lower.
