Laboratory Help
Q: What is the best laboratory balance for me?
A: Whilst there are many types of lab scales and balances out there, this will depend on what you want to use your laboratory balance for and how precise you need your results to be. If you envision working out in the field then a compact or portable balance would be recommended, however this will likely compensate on precision. On the other hand, if you are looking for precision over practicality then an analytical or precision scale would prove a better selection as these are designed specifically for lab based applications and feature greater precision then portable scale models .
All of our laboratory weighing scales and balances provide accurate and precise readings, however it is worth thinking about how you plan on using your laboratory balance and what features are most important to you when selecting a scale for purchase.
Q: What is the difference between precision scales and analytical balances?
A: The difference between precision scales and analytical balances are usually confined to the degree of precision and the features utilised for this purpose. For example, if we compare Adam Equipment's Nimbus precision scales to the analytical balances also within the Nimbus scale range, we find that analytical balances provide a 0.0001g readability compared with 0.001g for the precision scale. However, the Nimbus precision balance has a greater pan size and capacity compared with the Nimbus analytical balance.
