If you own a weighing scale with external calibration, then without calibration weights you run the risk of having inaccurate data. Inscale offer a selection of calibration weight sets ranging from 1g to 50kg with stainless steel, cast iron or brass options available. When buying calibration weights, it’s important to buy from someone you can trust, as any irregularity will cause your scales to be invalid. Please also remember to keep your weights in good condition to ensure that they remain consistently accurate over time!
It can be confusing to know which calibration weight set is right for you, although they can be broken down into three separate groups as shown below:
- M1 Class Test Weights: The M1 class weights are generally used when precision is not a top priority and we recommend using on a scale which has a readability of 0.1g and above. These are the most popular calibration weights for everyday use.
- F1 Class Test Weights: These weights are usually found in laboratories and calibration houses and have a higher level of accuracy than the M1 despite being cheaper than the E1 and E2. They are used to calibrate balances that have a readability of 0.01-0.001g.
- E1 & E2 Class Test Weights: Most commonly found in calibration centres for chemical and pharmaceutical companies, the E1 and E2 are the most precise calibration weights currently available. They calibrate balances with the finest level of accuracy which is anything below 0.0001g.
